Please forgive my absence, I've been super busy and super sick! I will have a post updating you on all that is the life of B very soon! In the meantime, I'm starting to get ready for festival season! Sorting through pieces in my wardrobe, culling, eyeing-off new pieces online - it's my favourite time of year! My Buffalo x Solestruck glitter sandals arrived today - SO excited to get them onto my footsies and show them off! I truly believe a statemenet shoe such as these can be worn with anything - they are meant to clash. What do you think? Hope all is well wherever you are xxx

Sassy Spring Style: Some Season Favourites

Sassy Spring Style Favourites

STYLESTALKER top, $38 / Swim suit, $81 / Monki hounds tooth skirt, $48 / Bikini, $81 / Agent provocateur, $175 / Pointed heel shoes, $75 / Tiffany & Co. mini pendant / Karen Walker diamond daisy ring, $93 / Karen Walker Eyewear matte sunglasses / Hat / Marc Jacobs fragrance

Spring time is well and truly upon us in the southern hemisphere. I love this time of year because it's so easy to throw on a skirt and singlet (effortless), and pair with luxe accessories (chic), and result in effortlessly chic outfits.

I have mentioned before that I adore the colour white in the warmer months (see why here), and I think this is definitely the season to work monochrome. (Or white on white on white if you are so inclined!)

Typically, I adore gold jewellery, but I think we will see lots of layered necklaces and stacked rings in silver this season. I think gold is more prominent in the cooler months because we associate hot weather with easygoing outfits, and silver jewellery doesn't usually make a huge statement.

Daisy will always be my favourite springtime fragrance - those gorgeous floral tones play along perfectly with a gal's femininity, and must drive men crazy! Similarly, the colour pink will always play a (not so subtle) role in my make-up and accessories, just because it is so playful and girly.

Sending love and sunshine xxx

Festival Fashion Fun: Mixing Prints, Textures & Colours

Festival Fun

Loose shirt, 42 AUD / One Teaspoon short shorts, 135 AUD / One Teaspoon bra, 74 AUD / Ankle booties, 190 AUD / Sophia Webster clutch, 475 AUD / LK Designs wrap around leather bracelet, 130 AUD / Dara Ettinger amethyst jewellery, 94 AUD / Gold tone earrings, 17 AUD / Jules Smith shark tooth jewelry, 90 AUD / Opening Ceremony retro glasses, 175 AUD

It's day 56 of my European trip, and every time I open my suitcase I want to bawl my eyes out because I am so darn tired of wearing the.same.clothes. The thought that is getting me through, is that Australian festival season is almost upon us - I get home in time for the weekend of Listen.Out which is only the beginning of all the craziness and fun outfits.

I was lucky enough to be in Germany for Melt! Festival, and I still have Leeds and possibly Selektor to go - so I sent 5 kilos of clothes back home to Australia so I can start building my festival wardrobe. My number one rule is always BE BOLD. I'm all about mixing patterns and textures, and layering too many different kinds of jewellery. The secret behind pulling it off is confidence. Believe that you're working your outfit and I promise you will be!

What you see above are some pieces that I'm loving for this festival season! So fun xxx

Life's A Beach: Summer Swimwear I'm Lusting Over

Life's A Beach

Anna Sui black silk cardigan, 685 AUD / Shiny swimsuit, 225 AUD / Jeffrey Campbell sandals, 140 AUD / Kate Spade tote bag, 105 AUD / H&M wide brim hat, 14 AUD / H&M sunglasses, 10 AUD

It's 12pm in Porto and currently 34°C, and it's going to reach tops of 38°C.
We had a big Friday night so the rest of my gang is still in bed, whilst I'm sitting here bikini-ready and
waiting to hit Gaia beach. I had nothing else to do this morning, and it's way too hot to lay around in our
bedroom, so here is some of the beachwear and accessories that I've fallen in love with!

I'm not sure why, but the colour white reminds me of expensive women on the French Riviera. For this
reason I love white clothes and accessories in Summer - not to mention they attract less heat and contrast
nicely with tanned skin!

I'm a big supporter of wearing printed bikini's with frills and embellishments - I figure you can use bold colours and patterns draw attention to the body parts that you favour and distract from those that you don't love quite as much (so if you love your bust but not your hips, wear a printed bikini top and plain bottoms!)

PS. Don't forget your hat and sunglasses when you're out in the sun to keep those dreaded sun-lines at bay! xx

WEAR WHAT HOW?: Boyfriend Jeans

Hey Boyfriend x

Mango black knit shirt, 21 AUD / FrenchTrotters femme jacket, 470 AUD / One Teaspoon baggy boyfriend jeans, 170 AUD / Jeffrey Campbell ankle booties, 190 AUD / Illesteva sunglasses, 175 AUD

Boyfriend jeans are everywhere this winter, they are the perfect daytime wardrobe staple as they can be worn with just about anything. However, not all pairs will suit every body shape so take the time to find the right style for you!

1) Boyfriend jeans are baggy. Be conscious to buy a pair that fits snugly around the hips or you will look like you're swimming in denim. They should flaunt your hips and bum, not hide them!

2) Avoid wearing long oversized shirts with these jeans, you can end up looking frumpy due to
the lack of visible waist line. Opt for cropped and slim-fitting tees, then keep warm by adding a blazer or anorak.

3) Roll the ankles! Perfect for evening wear by pairing with some heels, this is the perfect touch of femininity. Be aware if you're short that 'capri' length jeans can make you look shorter so roll your jeans to just above the ankles.

WEAR WHAT HOW?: Animal Prints

Winterlust: Untamed

Cartoon jacket, 69 AUD / Jaeger ivory coat, 340 AUD / Jeans, 66 AUD / NYX sandals, 150 AUD / H&M flat loafer, 10 AUD / Vintage Princess leopard print purse / Illesteva sunglasses, 495 AUD / NARS Cosmetics red lipstick, 32 AUD

There is a tendency in the winter months to become lazy with our appearance. Perusing our wardrobes for the perfect outfit is not an option, because every moment spent in our underwear is one too many of frozen torture. We opt for what is comfortable, and what is comfortable is usually pretty boring. #fact

You need not succumb to the winter habit of safe and uninteresting clothes. Just by incorporating splashes of colour and pairing mismatched prints, you can recreate your entire wardrobe.

Take a walk on the wild side in some of the crazy jungle prints* that I'm lusting over xxx

* When I say prints plural, I really mean print singular.. because leopard print is the fiercest print ever, and there is just no looking past such rock n' roll perfection. Maybe next time.
