Another #badgal existential crisis
The never-ending quest to have it all, such a sorry tale for the perfectionist Virgo. I feel like a troublesome brat - everything in life is going well (read: really fucking awesome), I have nothing to deservedly complain about.... Yet still this is not enough for me.
I'm a 90s child, which means I come from the school of "more is more and less is a bore," - we are all self-involved, need it all, want it all, feel it all, and so it goes on.
But I'm bored. (Read: really fucking bored.)
Sydney has always been home, and I had never felt that I belonged anywhere more than here. Yet as the weeks roll on, I feel myself distancing myself further and further from this place... Without realising how, I've completely detached from my surroundings. I don't want to be here, Sydney is holding less and less importance to me.
Like I said, I'm a brat. I have everything I could need and want here, but I don't want it. I want everything else, everything I don't have.
Sigh.

A collection of blurry iphone photographs from Splendour in the Grass 2014
The path to post-Splendour recovery is one well travelled, however nothing could have prepared me for the seemingly endless nights of brain zaps & never ending vertigo. Alas, here we are 22 days later and I thought I'd share some photographs from the wondrous festival.
For past photo collections in a similar, blurry vein, please refer to the following posts: Melt! Festival 2013 & Leeds Festival 2013

How to set more powerful intentions & reach your goals
It's been a long time between drinks (not literally, I have been loading up on booze), but I know that one day I will make myself commit to this blog.
Whilst not a whole lot has changed, everything feels a whole lot different (in a good way.) Life is awesome and I've been making things happen. A bunch of projects (new and old) are back in the pipeline and it feels great to have different places to divert my attentions now that I don't have any immediate travel plans. (Does Byron Bay for Splendour in the Grass count?)
Ok, let's get into the nitty gritty.
I wholeheartedly believe in the power of the universe, energy and manifestation... blah blah blah you've heard it all before. Sometimes I decide I want something to happen, and it serves itself on a silver platter within 12 hours. However, it's not unwise to have other processes in place for life's big plans to ensure you are continually supporting yourself, your life vision and your potential to make things happen.
Here are seven ways to make your intentions more powerful, and keep you on track to reaching your goals!
1. Write down your intention, outlining it in very clear and specific terms.
2. Understand what makes your intention quantifiable, so you can measure your success.
3. Is your intention achievable? It may not be realistic for tomorrow, or next month but believe with every cell in your body that you can achieve it.
4. Note down the time frame for this intention to manifest itself.
5. Put your written intention on display so you don't lose sight of your goal - it will always be in the forefront of your mind & reminding you to take action. If it is visible to other people, they can help you stay accountable.
6. State your intention like a mantra in the morning - it is a great motivator to start the day on the right foot.
7. Mentally simulate the process of achieving your goal, then clear your mind and imagine you have already achieved your goal - How do you feel? How do you look? Who are you with? Don't underestimate the power of visualisation.

Tell me, what is one of the goals you'd like to see manifest in your life?

Weekend Lunch Spot: Porch & Parlour
Porch & Parlour in Bondi is one of my favourite weekend lunch (or brunch) spots. Cosy little venue, warm atmosphere and babe'n bearded baristas (and the food is pretty good too.) But really - seasonal dishes, ethically sourced produce, super vegetarian-friendly... What more could you want with your ocean views?
I love the idea of doing the Bronte to Bondi walk, and then backing it up with a wholesome feed! Whilst I can't vouch for their meat-containing counterparts, the vegetarian menu options are comprised of simple flavour combinations that aren't too heavy on the stomach, so if you wanted to head back to the beach feeling comfortable in your bikini, you could. (I wouldn't include the veggie burger in my previous statement - it is a big deal.)
Sydney or elsewhere - where's your favourite weekend lunch spot?

How to make amazing things happen...
There is no particular point to this post, these are just some words wanting to escape from my brain, prompted by a conversation with a friend. Forgive me if it's a little incoherent.
There is endless controversy surrounding 'The Secret,' and the notion that if you put something out into the universe, you will receive it. Do you believe in this idea? More and more, my answer to that question is a resounding yes.
What prompted this reflection was a discussion with one of the most amazing souls I know (who I'm sure she is reading this from the other side of the world). She (who I will refer to as C), is my self-confessed biggest fan, and has always believed in everything I've done and made me feel as though anything I want to pursue is worth exploring. C says to me 'I really think anything is possible for you.' My immediate response goes something along the lines of, 'anything is possible for me, because people like you believe me.'
Fast forward a few hours and I realise... I am making things happen. It's an incredible feeling to have people believe in you, but perhaps this creates a false sense of confidence in people? Maybe this creates a false expectation that without changes things can fall into place? At the end of the day, we need to fully, wholly, with every cell in our bodies believe in ourselves and whatever our cause is because nobody else will get our success into motion. I am solely responsible for all the great happenings in my life right now.
How does this tie into 'The Secret?' The surer I have been that I'm responsible for all the great things I am making happen, the more positivity I have unintentionally put out into the universe. Some of the greatest human beings I have ever had the privilege of knowing have come into my life since I started feeling and acting like a great human. Like attracts like, so of course if I'm radiating positive energy, positive people and situations will start manifesting their way into my life. New, inspiring people open the door for exciting new opportunities and where these possibilities could escalate to are limitless. Following my conversation with C, a prospect I have been visualising, thinking about, working towards, essentially 'putting out into the universe' for months got the green light. I can't put it down to merely coincidence.
So I am making things happen in my life... but you need goals, you need to set intentions to build your success path. We'll touch on that in my next post.
I can't wait to share everything that is coming up in the next 6 months. If you wholeheartedly believe in yourself, believe in your actions and support your cause whilst maintaining a positive outlook you will start to make amazing things happen.
What amazing things do you want to make happen in your life?
